Makerbot 2: X-Axis Slipping Problem

George and I fired up the 3d printer, Makerbot 2,  for the first time Tuesday after its summer of rest and it was acting a bit funny.  The head would move in the Y, Z and –X direction just fine, but in the +X direction  it would start to stutter and make fighting sound.

This is what we saw . . .

Being the Googler that I am, I hit the web and first result answered our question.

We pulled out the ribbon cable as mention in the video and the problem got worse . . .

Then George pushed it together  around the kinked area and it has worked fine since.  Granted the cable is still hanging outside of the case, it is a temporarily fix until with get the new cable.  But it confirmed that it was a bad cable.
